Next Step; Next Month

This is the vocabulary for the month...
There will be the test at the end of the month.
Be ready tomorrow.

Bulletin board for the month of October.
The board is developed with quality work in mind.
Perfection is not the goal; however, there needs to be evidence of growth.

Growth is defined in different ways. In ADLclass, growth is being able to self-assess which is the ability to critique your own work and applying the correction immediately. As I went through all your work folders and circulated during class time, I noticed common trends occurring. Students need to take immediate action with teacher feedback both verbal and written. You need to treat your work as if it is in a state of emergency. Remember during our lesson on how we should treat different types of emergencies (reviewing protocol of soft lockdown in schcool), we defined emergency as a sudden need for immediate action. We have no time to take it easy. Behaviors, routines in the classroom, and the quality of work has been heading the wrong direction. Let's start the next month with these keywords this in mind: immediate, quality, and emergency. This next step is crucial.

Homework for tonight is to study for tomorrow's vocabulary test.
Oh...please be careful when adding an apostrophe 's' ('s) at the end of a word. It does not make a word plural--more than 1; instead, it becomes possessive. Email me if you are still unsure when or how to use an apostrophe 's' ('s).

It was a team effort to make these treats. As a pair of students measured another student mixed
in the melted butter and marshmallows.

As the Joads migrate west to California, we journey east to Key Food

Travel trained and non-travel trained students obey street crossing rules.
They wait for the light to change before arriving to our destination.

Class X01 separated into two groups. One group collected the ingredients for a smoothie recipe found in the Kraft website.

One student found juice while another found ice cubes--both important ingredients for a good smoothies.

Ms. Li supervised the other group which collected ingredients for a Creamy Oreo pie.

One last thing, greek yogurt for the smoothie.

The guys finished picking up the ingredients for the Oreo Cream pie. They had extra time so they bought themselves snacks--Ice Tea and more Oreo cookies.

Students from X01 scanned each item and bagged the merchandise. Then we inserted the coins and bills into the machine. Checking out our purchase was much different from having the help from a cashier.

Walking back to MSCD after a successful trip to our local supermarket.

Homework: Please select 1 of 3 worksheets to complete.
