Residency Assignment @ Mt. Sinai

"That man who is more than his elements knows the land that is more than its analysis. But the machine man, driving the dead tractor on land he does not know and love, understands only chemistry."
-John Steinbeck, Grapes of Wrath (Chapter 11)

ACADEMIC WORK!!
Ms. Jacobs introduction to the character Jim Casy. She is working with
a student on understanding the relationship between Jim Casy and Tom Joad.
Students were asked to describe what they thought about the two characters.

Ms. Jacobs setting her Kindle to play Grape of Wrath. The students listened
carefully and read along with the text to get a better sense of the characters and
the conflicts they face.

AFTER THEIR LESSON, OFF TO WORK!!!
MSCD students work in the mail room sorting and delivering mail to the different departments of Mt. Sinai. Students independently traveled to their assigned work site in Mt. Sinai. The mail room is located in the basement.

The many many loads of mail that needs to be separated and delivered to the appropriate staff members of Mt. Sinai.

Another department our MSCD student worked in located on the 4th floor.

MSCD student labeling and stuffing envelopes for the organization. They worked quietly and independently unsupervised. I was so impressed with their work ethics.

Homework: Select 1 of 3 options.

As I look back on my experience, I would like you to reflect on your experience while I was gone. How did it feel to have a teacher from another site? Did you like it? Did you not like it? If so or not, please provide examples.

Option 1: Please create a list of 8 words that describes your experience. You can answer the four questions above to inspire your answer.

Option 2: Please write 5 complete sentences describing your experience. You can answer the four questions above to inspire your answer.

Option 3: Please write 5 complete sentences describing your experience. You can answer the four questions above to inspire your answer. In addition, brainstorm four questions you would like to ask me tomorrow about the work site. Maybe Mt. Sinai would be a suitable place for you to work in.
